– The Konark Urban Haat acts as a connection point between the handicraft industry and the tourists who visit the Konark Sun Temple in Odisha. Located in the renowned tourist destination of Konark, it currently comprises approximately 40 shops, an amphitheatre, five exhibition halls,two green rooms, and one utility building.
– The design has been done, taking in consideration, the proximity of site from the Sun temple of Konark.
– Hence built up has been done in order to create multiple view points of the temple.
– Similarly the design concept has been inspired from the temple as well in terms of creating an ethnic environment.
– Cluster Planning was incorporated with Laterite and Sandstone used as the primary building material.
– The shops have been accommodated in the ground floor with the workshop spaces being shifted.
